We have officially baptised the kids into the world of snow sports this weekend. We headed off on an impromptu trip to our local Mountain- Mt Washington. 2.5 hrs easy driving away. Our trip up involved a couple of stops for snow chains and ski goggles and ski gloves then we were on our way.

The first sightings of snow blew the kids minds, and ours too as the pine trees made it seem like out of a book.
Seasons passes were purchased, the kids have what is called Rookie Passes which means they get lessons every afternoon we are on the mountain all season, as well as ski hire all for $550. We can not believe our luck, especially given that after 1hr of teaching the children ourselves there were at least 4 of us in tears and declaring we want to go home! God bless ski lessons – 2.5hrs of free time for Shem and I while the kids ski, drink hot chocolate and eat Oreos!
Here are the products of some very fine instructors…. Oh and some pretty clever kids too!!

Day three saw 20cm of snow fall, an amazing experience in itself, great skiing, snow angels and on cracking snowball fight.

Home now, Shem and I very sore and very motivated to get fit.
All in all we all loved it and again fell very fortunate to be experiencing all these cool things.
All sounds wonderful so far. Anglesea beach was a little chilly this morning but nothing on you! Miss you all. LMLN xxxx

Wow Fiona & Shem, you certainly are capturing many great memories of this wonderful experience. Yep, I can understand why there might have been a few tears, let alone the frustration. Thank God for ski instructors, hey! Hope you & Shem get the chance to do some of your own free skiing & time together whilst the kids are having their lessons. Love the short videos of all 3 kids skiing; wow truly amazing! Looks like you’re all having the most wonderful time, obviously a very worthwhile trip! Hope you all continue to have a wonderful time! Love Mrs T:)
